Recently, it's reported that a 67-year-old man has successfully made his skin cells rejuvenated to robot joint the level at the age of 36 by iPS technology. Then a variety of media have reported the issue. However, the manager responsible for the project has pointed out such technology is still in the basic research stage and cannot be applied to the human body.

From the 1980s, he started to offer his own skin fibroblasts from 36 years old to 67 years old ( the five age period ) on a regular basis to the institution and then the Japanese Institute of Kyoto University transformed the cells into iPS cells. The study found that in the original sample, related telomerase length in the ends of chromosomes gradually shortened, as a kind of cell aging index. While as for the iPS cells after transformed, the telomerase length fragments of different ages are increased.
It shows cells are expected to return to the state of youth.Generally, iPS cells, namely the induced pluripotent stem cells, belong to one of the pluripotent stem cells, which are similar to those embryonic stem cells. Because of the occurrence of such cells, further study about stem cells and clinical treatment of disease have been enabled. In addition, breakthrough in modern technology has also benefited the advance.In September 2014, Japan completed the world's first transplant surgery of iPS cells. In fact, some studies suggest that endothelial precursor cells differentiated by embryonic stem cells can secrete some cytokines that could promote the wound healing and improve the skin elasticity.
When it comes to the in-depth theory, it is possible to use connective tissue cells to replace the aging cells or affect cell microenvironment through paracrine. However, there is still not enough experimental data to assess involved effectiveness and safety, which means infusing such substances into the human body cannot pass ethical review.
